Martha Asks For Royalties on Number Plates
DANBURY, Connecticut Martha Stewart has begun to serve her sentence in Federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut. Martha was sentenced to five months in jail, five months of house arrest, and a lifetime ban from appearing on the Today Show.
But Martha has caused a stir by asking for royalties on the number plates she is making.
“These aren’t ordinary plates, “said Martha. “They are Martha Stewart Signature Plates! I’ve inserted little decorative features around the numbers. Put these on your car and it says something about you ... such as ‘I shop at Kmart.’
"I’m also making a series of plates where I substitute the State logo with the words ‘Pardon Martha.’ I urge my supporters and people who love my TV shows, cookbooks and decorating ideas to ask for the plates and install them on their cars, minivans and SUVs. And please keep buying my sheets!”
