HOLLYWOOD — Tom Cruise says Katie Holmes "digs" the Church of Scientology. In an interview with a popular magazine, Cruise said the Batman Begins actress is curious about Scientology, a weird religion founded by the late L. Ron Hubbard.
“Yes, absolutely, she digs it," said Cruise. “She took my copy of Hubbard’s book and buried it in the garden. Luckily the dog found it for me.”
In the interview, Cruise also confirmed that there was a Scientology tent on the set of his upcoming movie, War of the Worlds.
"Yes, I had a Scientology tent on the set,” said Cruise. “Not to convert anyone, but in case they wanted massages. I also had a cappuccino tent on the set. That’s because I also worship the man with the donkey in the ad for Colombia coffee. He is the new Messiah!”
In a reader poll, 61 percent of respondents said they liked Cruise less after the recent attention to his personal life, 3 percent said they liked him more, and 36 percent said they still thought he is gay.
