British Airways Blocks Access to Bongo News

British Airways warning

LONDON — By our political commentator and gourmand, Jack Palethorpe

If you are in a British Airway's airport lounge and want to use their Internet service to check your favorite satire news site, you will find that you can't. British Airways has blocked access to Bongo News!

An attempt to go to leads to a pop up sign which announces, in large red font, "Internet Access to this site has been BLOCKED," with text below which says that British Airways has blocked access to sites that may be "illegal or offensive."

Could it be that British Airways took such action in retaliation for the Bongo News' story of July 6, 2005, British Airways Blatantly Uses Sex to Lure Female Flyers, which lampooned a British Airways' ad?

Access to Bongo News was not restricted by British Airways before the ad spoof appeared.
