Spitzer is Still Mystified by the Leaks in All His Investigations
NEW YORK New York Governor-elect, Eliot Spitzer, is making plans for his move into the Governor's mansion, and is winding up his duties as New York Attorney General. He will pass his case load onto his successor, but he has officially closed the lid on any investigation into the series of leaks to The Wall Street Journal of the prosecution's case in all of his major investigations.
Spitzer is still mystified as to how these leaks could have occurred.
"I was obviously not the leaker," he said, "and none of my trusted staff would dare to take any action without my prior authorization. So it is impossible that leaks could have occurred, and it will remain an unsolvable mystery."
Spitzer investigated people for all kinds of white collar crimes and instigated civil proceedings as well. But the leaking of material in an investigation is a felony "“ a very serious offence "“ so it has been doubling frustrating to Spitzer that he has been unable to investigate these matters. Not even to begin to investigate.
