Gifford dog, Chardonnay, before being swallowed by a coyote RIVERSIDE, CT — No one is better at getting publicity for herself than annoying, unemployed, talk show host, Kathie Lee Gifford.
Having been out of the news for a few days, she was able to get back into the tabloids with the news that a wild coyote had eaten her pet pooch. In a Connecticut suburb, no less! It seems that the tiny Bichon Frisé (French for "silly floor mop"), was no match for the coyote.
But Kathie Lee managed to spin a story about how this tiny dog was her family's "guard dog", who was loyally trying to defend the family while the family had left it unattended in their back yard.
"She gave her life for the family," said Kathie Lee, as she headed off in her SUV to return her rented copy of A Cry in the Dark to the local Blockbuster.
