Lonely Man Pleased to Get Computer-Generated 'Happy Birthdays'

SOMEWHERE, USA, 2010-09-13 — A local man was pleased to receive computer-generated birthday greetings for his birthday yesterday from various websites, some of which he has visited in the past, and others he is sure he has never visited.

"I didn't get any birthday greetings from real people," he said, "so it cheered me up to receive computer-generated ones."

"I don't know how the computers know my birthday," he said. "That's a complete mystery. But it is nice that they know and that they remembered."
